The AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system automatically adjusts to road conditions and your driving style. With weaker impacts a valve helps to automatically reduce the damping power on each wheel, allowing for a higher road roar and tyre vibration characteristics. For stronger impacts the damping effect of the system improves and in turn increases the vehicle’s overall handling.

When you make an emergency stop the adaptive brake lights blink every 5.5 seconds. This blinking of the brake lights warns the vehicles behind you and allows them more time to react. If the vehicle is braked to a complete stop, the hazard warning lamps also switch on.

The integral ADAPTIVE BRAKE system improves ride comfort and safety by helping to execute critical braking manoeuvres with the basic function of the ABS anti-lock braking system and making difficult driving situations easier with convenience functions.

These include the HOLD function which acts like a parking brake and can be activated by briefly depressing the gas pedal. The HOLD function then keeps the vehicle from rolling unintentionally when stopped at a light or in stop-and-go traffic. The hill-start assist prevents the vehicle from rolling back unexpectedly on inclines when changing from the brake to the gas pedal. The brake drying function ensures that full braking power is available even under wet conditions. And with the priming programme the system reduces the response time of the brakes.

The headlamp assist system reduces the strain on the driver by automatically switching on low-beam headlamps, tail lamps and number plate illumination when conditions get dark outside. The assist system also activates this function when it’s raining or snowing by electronically detecting the cycles of the windscreen wipers.

You can use the multifunction steering wheel to operate the information and entertainment functions of the vehicle without being distracted from traffic conditions. In addition the car is equipped with four intuitively arranged buttons for operating the display menu in the instrument cluster and adjusting the volume of the radio and sound system.

THERMATIC automatic climate control provides individual temperatures and a pleasant climate in the vehicle interior, with separate controls for the right and left side of the interior. The desired temperature and air distribution are automatically regulated. In addition a combination filter ensures optimum air quality. With the REST function the interior of the vehicle can be heated or ventilated for up to 30 minutes after the engine switches off.
